SOCIAL

We pride ourselves on having a highly active social scene.

This improves our clubs inclusivity between the two sports, different squads and also social members, who may have missed out on joining a squad at the beginning of the year.

Key dates on the social calendar are listed below, however, there are many more events throughout the year as well.

WEEKLY SOCIALS

weekly socials

Any society experience wouldn’t be complete without an active social scene. As one of the biggest mixed societies on campus, LUUSWP host large, weekly Wednesday night socials ending in the mischievous land of Warehouse. Fancy dress is a must on a Wednesday with previous themes including Baywatch, Dirty Leeds Superheroes and Aussies in Cozies.

If Wednesdays don't take your fancy we also hold a variety of sober socials!

OTLEY RUNS

LUUSWP takes on the 16 pubs of the Otley Run, winding from the Headingly Taps to Dry Dock, twice a year. These are among the biggest dates on our social calendar and provide great opportunities for bonding across the society. With large numbers of Alumni coming back for more each year this is a great opportunity to make friends and some wild memories.

CHRISTMAS DINNER

As the winter months roll in LUUSWP make sure none of its members miss out on the festive cheer. Christmas dinner is the classiest event on the social calendar, a chance to get glammed up for a 3-course sit-down meal and enjoy a glass of wine or two surrounded by friends. It has also become tradition within the society that the Nativity is performed at the last social of the year, with some stellar performances in years past, this has proved a truly entertaining and lighthearted way to go into the Christmas break.

Tour represents a true highlight of many student's time at university. LUUSWP come together once a year, during the Easter break, to kiss goodbye to the grey Yorkshire skies and depart for the sunny Croatian shores of Poreč. The week is spent partying with hundreds of other societies from universities across the country, with activities such as foam parties, huge club nights and volleyball tournaments held every year by ILOVETOUR. “Tour isn’t a place; Tour is a state of mind”
